Created by members of the team behind Guitar Hero, Stage Tour is a “love letter” to rhythm gaming. “Stage Tour won’t be Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, Guitar Freaks or Rock Band. This is something new,” the team behind the revived RedOctane studio wrote in their ‘A Genre Worth Fighting For – Our Return To Music Rhythm Games’ blog.

Earlier this month, they confirmed the first ten names for the Stage Tour soundtrack, which included Babymetal, Weezer and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Now RedOctance have announced that you’ll be able to play along to Paramore’s pop-punk classic ‘For A Pessimist I’m Pretty Optimistic’, Avril Lavigne’s iconic ‘Bite Me’ and Honey Revenge’s ‘Airhead’ as part of the game.

All the songs confirmed for the ‘Stage Tour’ soundtrack:

  • Babymetal & Electric Callboy – ‘RATATATA’
  • Extreme – ‘Get The Funk Out’
  • Ghost – ‘Square Hammer’
  • Good Kid – ‘Mimi’s Delivery Service’
  • Red Hot Chili Peppers – ‘Dani California’
  • Static-X – ‘Terminator Oscillator’
  • Weezer – ‘Island In The Sun’
  • Paramore – ‘For A Pessimist, I’m Pretty Optimistic’
  • Avril Lavigne – ‘Bite Me’
  • Honey Revenge – ‘Airhead’

“Y’all already know that Guitar Hero is the reason I started playing guitar, I cannot verbalise how fucking cool this is,” wrote Honey Revenge’s Donny Lloyd on X.

“Nothing brings people together like a killer soundtrack, and Stage Tour is turning the volume all the way up. Built to celebrate generations of music fans, the game’s officially licensed setlist blends iconic rock anthems with modern global hits spanning rock, metal, alt-rock, pop-punk, and beyond,” explained the team at RedOctane in a blog post.

Stage Tour is due to launch later this year. The game will work with a variety of different controllers including a PC keyboard, and will feature guitar, bass, drum and vocal inputs. It will also be released alongside a line-up of “purpose-built” hardware.
