This week, Nicholas Ghesquière presented his SS27 cruise collection in New York City with a star-studded front row (and cast!), Miu Miu releases a new upcycled collection, and Mugler launches a perfume campaign starring Emma Chamberlain.

With a Keith Haring collaboration and Chloë Sevigny in the front row, there was no doubt that Louis Vuitton’s SS27 Cruise show had officially landed in the Big Apple. Staged at The Frick Collection, Nicolas Ghesquière presented a spectacle of voluminous ruffled gowns and futuristic mini dresses that captured the city’s duality, its downtown effortless casualness and uptown opulence. The opening look featured an original Keith Haring suitcase dating back to the 1930s, as other garments served as canvases for the late artist’s prints, including an impeccable hand printed leather jacket. 

Inspired by the ongoing dialogue between Paris and New York, the collection explored the tension between past and future, pop culture and savoir-faire, and classic American fashion codes, in the signature nonconformist style of Nicholas Ghesquiere, with American artist Alana Haim debuting on the runway. From Louis Vuitton monogram boxing gloves to vinyl record-shaped clutches, the collectible bags, naturally, stole the show.
