Reigning 2025 Freeride World Tour champion Marcus Goguen is looking to put cash directly into the pockets of the next generation of skiers. Through his training and coaching platform, Adrenaline Performance, the 21-year-old Whistler native has launched the “Send of the Year” digital contest, offering a total of $1,000 in prize money to highlight unheralded big-mountain talent.
The submission window is rapidly closing, with entries officially shutting tomorrow, May 21, 2026.
For Goguen, the motivation behind the contest is deeply personal, rooted in his own rise through the International Freeskiers & Snowboarders Association (IFSA) junior ranks and his explosive entry onto the world stage. The contest is specifically designed to bypass traditional gatekeepers and give anyone — regardless of their status or age — a platform to get noticed.
“The most insane clip I ever saw in a contest came from somebody nobody has ever heard of,” Goguen shared on an Instagram post announcing the competition. “Watching a complete unknown just blow everyone out the water is what made these contests so addictive. I was in every single one I could find just to put my name out there. And that’s exactly why we’re doing Send of the Year. We’ve got $1,000 cash on the line — I don’t care if you’re 16 or 40, I wanna see your clip.”
The prize pool is split evenly into two distinct $500 categories, providing two different paths for skiers to walk away with cash:

Marcus’s Pick ($500): Awarded to the single most impressive clip as judged directly by Goguen himself.

To enter the competition before the May 21 deadline, riders must follow a few simple steps on social media. Competitors need to post their best ski clip as an Instagram Reel within the active submission window, tag the official account @adrenalineperformance, use the hashtag #SendOfTheYear, and ensure they are following the @adrenalineperformance page.
