A Gogglebox star who featured in the TV programme for five seasons has died following a short illness.

Production company Studio Lambert, which makes the Channel 4 show, said Ken Harwood died last week at the age of 77.

Harwood, from Consett, County Durham, was a regular on the series between 2020 and 2022 alongside his wife of 55 years Anne.

A Studio Lambert spokesperson said: “He will be dearly missed by his wife Anne, sons Simon and Ross, daughter-in-law, Elle, grandchildren Freya and Tristram, and all who knew him.”

The company added a tribute to Ken Harwood would be featured at the end of the episode of Gogglebox airing on Channel 4 later.

He was a postmaster for 30 years and went on to be a local councillor before retiring in 2013.
